Beth Dowling Named Institutional Registrar

The has announced the creation of the Office of the Institutional Registrar that will support the efficiency and effectiveness of the registrars offices of each of 大香蕉视频鈥檚 schools.

The office will be led by , who has been appointed assistant provost and institutional registrar. Dowling most recently served as associate vice president for institutional research and data governance at New England College in Henniker, N.H. She began the role on Oct. 27.

As institutional registrar, Dowling will support the institutional-level work of the registrars of the School of Arts and Sciences, , , , and , working closely with each to establish institutional processes and relationships. She will also work closely with the on matters of reporting, governance, and compliance on such issues as financial aid and veterans benefits.

鈥淭his is an incredible opportunity,鈥 says Dowling. 鈥淩egistrars serve a critical role in the traditional recordkeeping and the coordination of systems that support students, faculty, and staff across the institution. These processes facilitate institutional compliance, but most importantly, they enhance the academic experience for students and faculty.鈥

Dowling has held several roles during her 15 years at New England College, including as director of mentoring, registrar, and dean of academic operations, where she led efforts to streamline processes, strengthen compliance, and enhance the student experience. As associate vice president for institutional research and governance, she helped the institution use data effectively to guide planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement.

While at New England College, she earned an EdD in higher education administration. Her doctoral research focused on COVID-19 pandemic-related faculty instructional adaptations at New England liberal arts institutions. She earned her bachelor鈥檚 in economics and a master鈥檚 in human development and family studies from the University of Rhode Island.

Dowling began her career in higher education at The Ohio State University, where she was first academic advisor and staff assistant, then coordinator of academic advising at the Marion Campus. She joined the staff of the University of New Hampshire College of Professional Studies (formerly Granite State College) in 2002, serving as a learner services coordinator and later as director of advising and as a regional coordinator.
