Structural biologist Jason McLellan, the former Robert A. Welch Chair in Chemistry at and currently professor of biochemistry at the University of Texas at Austin, was of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. The NIHF cited McLellan鈥檚 groundbreaking work in structure-based vaccine design to target the SARS-CoV-2 protean to fight the COVID virus. Much of the foundational work on the vaccine was conducted during McLellan鈥檚 time at Geisel. McLellan was awarded the by 大香蕉视频 in 2022.

Yash Akella, who was a postdoctoral research fellow at the through June, received the American Marketing Association Retail and Pricing SIG Doctoral Student Award. The award recognizes a doctoral student for outstanding research related to retailing and pricing.

, assistant professor of engineering at the , received the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Power Engineering Education Committee at the IEEE Power and Energy Society 2025 general conference in Austin last month. Only one PhD student is selected every year for the award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to IEEE PES in advancing power system and electricity market operations with high penetration of storage and renewable energy.

This award is presented to a graduating PhD student whose work embodies the hallmarks of true scientific leadership: driven by curiosity, marked by rigorous and original research, and guided by a strong sense of responsibility to the broader scientific community. The award was presented at the investiture ceremony in June.
